Stara Zagora Airport (Bulgarian: Летище Стара Загора) (IATA: SZR, ICAO: LBSZ) is one of the two airports /the other one is Kalvacha Airport/ of the fifth largest metro in Bulgaria, Stara Zagora. The airport is located near the Kolio Ganchev suburb located about 9 km south from the city center of Stara Zagora. Due to its good location, near the Shipka Top, Stara Zagora Spa Resort and Sevtopolis - The Thrace Capital, the airport is mainly attractive for charters. Stara Zagora Airport is awaiting concession procedure as of 2008.
