Stan Bernstein is currently serving as a United States Bankruptcy Judge in the Eastern District of New York since 1996.

He previously served in the same capacity in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, from 1982 to 1984.

He is the author of Collier on Compensation, Employment and Appointment of Trustees and Professionals in Bankruptcy Cases (1987-2000) and a contributing author to Collier on Bankruptcy (15th ed. rev. 1997-2000).
