[edit] Early career: Superboy
Haiduk first achieved national fame when she was cast in the role of Lana Lang in the live-action Superboy TV series of 1988. The series ran for four years (1988-1992), and Haiduk was the only cast member to remain for (almost) its entire 100 episode run. After the series ended, she appeared in the direct to video cult film Luther the Geek for Troma Entertainment, in which she appeared nude.
[edit] seaQuest DSV
After portraying regular character Rhea McPherson, an aspiring FBI-agent, in the short-lived Spelling series The Round Table, Haiduk subsequently landed a role in seaQuest DSV, in which she played Lt. Cmdr. Katherine Hitchcock, the chief engineer, and third in command of the high-tech submarine. Hitchcock was intended to be a major role model for young girls, however the writers did not develop her character to a great extent. At the end of the first season, the producers decided to take the show in a new direction, moving away from science and more toward fantasy. Major cast changes occurred for season two. Haiduk, unhappy with her character development and reluctant to move with the show to its new filming location in Florida (ironically where she had lived to film Superboy during its run), declined to reappear for the second season.
[edit] Later career
Haiduk appeared in the 1994 TV movie A Perfect Stranger (based on the novel by Danielle Steele). Haiduk went on to play a female vampire in the short-lived series, Kindred: The Embraced. After this stint, much of her acting consists of the occasional film, such as the Indie hit Gabriela where she appeared alongside Jaime Gomez and Zach Galligan, and TV appearances on such shows as Charmed, The X-Files, CSI: Miami, CSI: New York, Cold Case, and Crossing Jordan. Recent appearances include guest starring roles in NCIS and in 2006 she made a couple of appearances as a Homeland Security agent in Heroes (one of her appearances was in an unbroadcast version of the series' pilot episode, which was released to DVD in 2007). She also appeared as herself on the documentary Superboy: Getting Off the Ground, part of the special features extras on the DVD release of Superboy: The Complete First Season in 2006.
She joined the cast of the ABC TV network's soap opera All My Children as Hannah Nichols, with her first episode airing March 27, 2007. She briefly left the show when the character left town, but has returned in recent months. In December, she was let go from the show and last aired on January 14, 2008.
She is married to actor Bradford Tatum.
