'St. Richard's Catholic College is a Specialist Science College with Leading Edge status. The college is a secondary school situated in Bexhill-on-sea in East Sussex. It has also been awarded High Performing Specialist School (HPSS) and 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.
The school is split into 4 houses - Gwynne, Rigby, Howard and Wells. Gwynne is Green. Rigby is Red. Howard is Blue. And Wells is Yellow. Every year these houses compete against each other in a school sports day. These events consist of: various distance running; 100m, 200m, 300m, 500m, 800m and 1500m, shot put, long jump, triple jump, javelin. This day is topped off with the famous inter-house relay.
It takes girls and boys from age 11 to age 16, and there are over a thousand pupils in the years 7–11. Every year the school takes in 200 new pupils.
The school teaches many subjects: Maths, English, Science, French, German, Art, Drama, Dance, PE, RE, Music, Business Studies, Sports Studies, Media Studies, Food Tech, Graphics, Wood Tech, Metal Tech, ICT, PSHE, History, Geography, Leasure and Tourism, and others.
