St Dominic's High School

St Dominic's High School is a Catholic grammar school for girls aged 11-18. It was founded in 1870 by the Dominican Order of nuns at their Convent on the Falls Road in West Belfast. The school, one of the oldest in Belfast, has an excellent reputation for outstanding academic success and focuses on the ethos of a Catholic Education. The current principal of St. Dominic's is Mrs C McCann, a former pupil of the school. The motto of St Dominic’s is Veritas, meaning truth, which is the proper object of all intellectual activity. This is the shared motto of the Dominican Order, which has dedicated itself to truth.

Notable alumni include the President of Ireland, Mary McAleese.
