Saint Brigid's GAC, or Cumann Naomh Bríd Beal Féirste, was founded in 1998 by Dermot Dowling and Conor Mc Sherry in the parish hall of St Brigid's Church. The club hail from the Malone Road area in Belfast, also know as the Gold Road.

In its inaugural decade, the club has risen up the ranks of Antrim Club Football from the gutter of division 5 to the heady heights of the top flight amongst more established teams like Rossa and Aghohill. Many a football eye noted that the efforts of men like John Gerard Doran and the triumvirate of Mackle (read: Mackelelé) men were crucial in this success; less so was the consistently putrid form of James Loughrey, who somehow made his way to Croke Park amidst rumours of Stevie Wonder being appointed an Antrim Football selector. The inclusion of Tim McCrudden on the Antrim Minor panel in consecutive years also sparked speculation as to the musical talents of the selection team itself.

2007 saw the team field their first senior hurling team, and even win their 1st underage football championship against Gort Na Mona at U-14 level.

They have had recent success in all grades of both men and women's football and senior hurling.
