Talk:St. Mary's College, Kansas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I want to delete the entire mention of the "first cathedral west of the mississippi.
I mean, Sonora in the 1700's, mexico city in the 1600's, St Louis in the 1820's, Galvaston in the 1840's. This doesn't discount Bishop Miege's role, but still, I'm not sure this is the place for a long discussion of catholic episcopal history. Rick Boatright 20:28, 6 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] the cathedral issue
to keep going about a detail like this one is totally irrelevant to the purpose of the article; better remove your post —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.42.168.109 (talk) 12:41, 7 December 2006 (UTC).
[edit] the seminary issue
I find irrelevant as well to say that the school does not have a seminary program. Of course it does not; it is a college, not a seminary. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.42.168.109 (talk) 12:44, 7 December 2006 (UTC).
it is irrelevant indeed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.42.145.33 (talk) 23:12, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Content on St. Marys Academy
This page is for the St. Mary's College in St. Marys Kansas not the St. Mary's Academy and College. If someone desires to start a page for that content, then do so. Don't change history by using wikipedia.
[edit] Excommunication and the SSPX
Information was added on February 12, 2008 regarding indicating the Catholic faithful who are part of the parish here are excommunicated. The current stance of the Roman Catholic Church regarding the Fraternal Society of St. Pius X is that, at most, the bishops involved in the 1988 Consecration were excommunicated. This information is already noted in many other articles and it seems unnecessary to attempt to weave it into every article about something related to the SSPX. It is especially problematic to add information which is inaccurate (e.g. The Catholic laity who attend school or Mass here are excommunicated).
