In the standings published Independence Day 1875, the Chicago Tribune listed the NA clubs as Boston, Chicago, Hartford, New Haven, Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Washington (seven city names), Athletic, Atlantic, Mutual, and Red Stocking (eleven in all), Centennial and Keokuk or Western having dropped out earlier. --P64 21:05, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
