[edit] Athletics Section

Is there any need to go into great lengths to describe activities surrounding the basketball scandal, including sensitive information such as credits earned, and the lawyer from Ice Miller. I can see mentioning the scandal in passing, but as an alum I'd prefere we focus on the University today. Therainman58 19:36, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

OK, I couldn't take it. The Athletics section read like a tabloid, full of detailed information about the scandal that had no business being printed in an entry about the University. If someone so desperately desires to rehash the past and rake muck, create your own "Scandal" page. As it is, I think I left too much about the scandal in the entry. It should receive a byline at best, and most faithful Bonnies could care less about a paragraph being with the name "Mike Gansey". What about the other sports that are currently successful - Baseball, Lacrosse, Swimming? Therainman58 17:44, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Rewrite request

Keeping with the "Wikipedia is not an advertising service" theme, I'd like to suggest that this page be re-written; it reads like a promotional tract (I draw attention to the repeated use of phrases like "students lovingly do this" or "students fondly do that". The last lines even say something like 'it's no wonder students never want to leave' or words to that effect.).

Is this a neutral article or a vacation brochure? It reads like the latter.

As an alum (class of 1990), I'm almost embarassed by the maudlin voice this article uses. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fionnbharr (talk • contribs) 11:44, July 18, 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unsourced statement

According to The Advocate, recently, St. Bonaventure has attracted a widely diverse student body, including many homosexuals. In 2003, 2 out of 5 members of the senior class were openly gay. That figure grew to 3 out of 5 in 2005.[citation needed]

A search of the website The Advocate does not turn up this story. This sensistive topic needs substantiation to be included in the article. --Blainster 11:20, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
