St. Leger Italiano

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The St. Leger Italiano is a Listed flat horse race in Italy for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 2,800 metres (approximately 1¾ miles) at San Siro Racecourse in late October or early November.

Based on the English St. Leger Stakes, the race was originally restricted to three-year-olds only, opening to older horses in 1994. It was formerly run at Turin as a Group 3 race over 2,900 metres, and prior to 1994 it was held in July.
