St. Francis Schools

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

St. Francis School is a private, nonprofit, nonsectarian school that has been servicing the students of metro Atlanta since 1976. St. Francis is committed to providing an educational program of the highest quality that can meet the needs of students with diverse abilities who would profit from a smaller teacher-pupil ratio than is available in most public or private schools.

St. Francis is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, the Southern Association of Independent Schools, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is a member of the Georgia Association of Independent Schools and the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools. There are two campuses: An Elementary and Middle school in Roswell and a High school campus in Alpharetta.

[edit] Philosophy

St. Francis School's educational philosophy is based on the premise that every child can succeed if attention is given to his or her learning strengths, as well as his or her learning weaknesses. Children learn best in an environment that is supportive yet challenging and where reachable expectations have replaced ongoing frustration.

St. Francis allows each child to realize his or her full learning potential by providing a balanced, well-rounded program that pays careful attention to basic skill development, while at the same time encouraging growth through physical activity, fine arts appreciation, scientific experimentation, and historical discovery.
