Stéphane Ducret

Stéphane Ducret is a Swiss contemporary painter born in 1970 in Lausanne, Switzerland and based in Buenos Aires, Argentina since 2006.

He studied at the Geneva University of Art (ESAV). He was commissioned to make large-scale paintings by the Geneva Hospital (1998) and by the Geneva International Conference Center (1999) before moving to New York City. He showed his work at the Bronx Museum of the Arts (2000) among others, and founded the Point Gallery (2000-2002).

He moved his studio to Porto, Portugal (2001) before being appointed Director (2002-2006) of l’elac (l'espace lausannois d'art contemporain, Lausanne).

He has shown his work at Edward Mitterrand Gallery, Geneva (2002), l’elac (2002, 2003), the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Lausanne (2003, 2004, 2005), Synospsism Gallery, Lausanne (2005, 2006, 2007), FAC (Forum d’art contemporain), Sierre (2006), Centre PasquArt, Bienne (2006), he was awarded by The Fondation leenaards in 2003.
