Sreten Sretenović (born in Čačak, Serbia) on 1985-02-15, is a football player who currently plays for Poli Timişoara in Romania. Sretenovic began his football career at Rad Belgrade where he came into prominence as a defender, where his big size quickly assured him into the starting eleven. Sretenovic, who stands at 192 cm, was a vocal point for the club, and his hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed as many clubs where after the young Serb, most notably Red Star Belgrade, Steaua Bucureşti, CSKA Moskva, Villarreal CF.
After the 2006-07 season of the Serbian League he stated his desire to play in western Europe and so, on June 29, 2007 Benfica signed the young defender. However, he was quickly discarded by the man who required his services, Fernando Santos. With Santos' sacking after the first matchday in Portugal and the subsequent replacement with José Antonio Camacho, Sretenovic remained in Benfica's payroll, having been loaned to Z.Lubin for 2007-08.
In June 2008 he was transferred to Romanian team Poli Timişoara in the Liga I.
