[edit] Production

Square One Organic Vodka is made from organic rye grown in North Dakota and water drawn from the Snake River watershed of the Teton Mountain Range in Wyoming. It is fermented through a proprietary organic process certified by Oregon Tilth. Following fermentation, it undergoes a single pass through a four-column continuous distillation and traditional carbon filtration. Production takes place in small batches at Distilled Resources, an artisanal facility located in Rigby, Idaho near the water source.

[edit] History

Allison Evanow formed Square One Organic Spirits, LLC, in Novato, California to launch Square One Organic Vodka in April, 2006.[1] As of late 2007 the vodka has distribution in around 20 states.

[edit] Reviews

In October 2006, Square One Organic Vodka received a rating of 94 points (Exceptional) from the Beverage Tasting Institute, which noted its “very supple, clean, and elegant” taste.[2] The June 2006 issue of Spirit Journal awarded Square One Organic Vodka four out of five stars, praising its “sweet, ripe tropical fruit-like aromas of papaya, mango and/or guava as well as floral scents of orchids, roses, honeysuckle.”[3]
