[edit] SklogWiki

You wrote: I understand the arguments for why the SklogWiki entry was deleted. However, deleting links to www.sklogwiki.org on the statistical mechanics and the thermodynamics pages I feel is just a bit overzealous. That is, of course, unless you feel that SklogWiki does not have and will not be of any use to the statistical mechanics community.

The problem is, there are probably dozens of such pages on the internet. If sklogwiki is not more developed than those,, why should it stand out? Karol 10:10, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
Note that I wrote pages, not wikis. In any case, it's not a good idea to have a link to a page that is less extensive than the article itself. Also, I can't help noticing that you ("Spud Gun") are almost certainly the creator and sole contributor to SklogWiki (Carl McBride, I presume) - which makes you biased. As much as I value the initiative (and your scientific work), there is a conflist of interest here, and promotion of SklogWiki on Wikipedia by you will be seen by most experienced editors as spam. [edit] Speedy deletion

Regarding the article Volta vodka, which you tagged for speedy deletion with the reason "It is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article", I wanted you to know that I have removed the speedy deletion tag. This article does not qualify for speedy deletion because it is not an advert. If you still want the article to be deleted, please use the WP:AFD process. Thanks! [edit] Removing messages

It is considered bad practice to remove messages from your talk page, other than to archive it. Please consider not removing the messages or archiving them. Stifle (talk) 17:39, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Removing messages

Dear Stifle, thank you for your guidance concerning the archival of User talk pages. I completely understand why the talk pages for mainspace articles should be preserved. However, I was unaware of the importance of User talk pages, and up until now I have treated mine in an informal, if not cavalier, manner. (Hmmm, maybe I shall design a userbox to this effect). All the best --Spud Gun 10:04, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome! Thanks for being open to suggestion on the matter. Stifle (talk) 19:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
