Created in 1998, Spring Valley High School brought together Ceredo-Kenova High School, Vinson High School, and Buffalo High School.

Spring Valley High School will provide a safe, nuturing, challenging, and developmentally appropriate environment that empowers all students, grade nine to adult, to value learning as a life-long pursuit and to enable them to become productive and responsible citizens.

[edit] The Bands

Spring Valley High School has a total of Five different bands. The first band is the Freshman Band. The name speaks for itself- band of Freshmen. The next is the Symphonic Band. This band consists of mainly sophomores, juniors, and few seniors. The Wind Ensemble consists of Juniors, Seniors, and a select few exceptional Sophomores. The award-winning Jazz Ensemble was chosen to play at the West Virginia State Music Convention, the highest recognition a West Virginia jazz band can receive. The award-winning Marching Band is composed of any band member that wants to join. In April 2008 the "Marching Timberwolves" performed in the Spectro-Magic Parade at Walt Disney World in Florida. Directors for these bands are Tom Chaffin and Joe D. Hardin.
