SpreeBB was a free forum message board hosting service that allowed internet users to create and manage their own online discussion communities. It was officially launched on 11 August 2005 as a beta. The service used a modified version Invision Power Board.
SpreeBB was hosted on servers with multiple Intel Xeon processors, using Linux as their operating system. The service utilized a distributed server infrastructure so as to avoid server overloads. The servers were optimized in the aim for maximum performance and uptime.
SpreeBB, as on other forum hosting software, had a community that competed to find the best forum/community on the host. Like many other hosts such as InvisionFree, SpreeBB did not have an official resource forum, but instead had official support forums where users could request or provide support as well as several other resources.
[edit] Closing of SpreeBB
SpreeBB was closed down in February 2008. The domain name was sold on GoDaddy.com
