[edit] Gart Sports/Name Change

The article currently contains this sentence: "In May 2006, all 400 stores operated under the Sports Authority banner." which doesn't really sound relavent unless you know that some of the stores changed names or when the name change happened. Does anyone have this information, or want to revise the sentence to make more sense? It's nice that the article contains current information but I think some history is important too. -- Renesis13 22:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dick's Or TSA

Dick's sporting goods page says: Dick's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) is the world's largest sporting goods retailer.

TSA'S page says: The Sports Authority is America's largest full line sporting goods retailer.

But isn't Dick's in America? TSA has 400 stores versus Dick's 261? TSA wins. please update!!

Whichever entry gets to say "largest", an objective authority for the claim should be included. In any case, whether or not it is the largest is not likely to be the most interesting or important fact about sporting goods chain, so the statements lead position in the article is a PR statement however well the claim is validated.
