Sportsnight

Sportsnight was a midweek BBC television sports programme that ran from 1968 until 1997. It was a successor to Sportsview which started in 1954. Sportsnight was shown on Tuesday nights during the David Coleman era dubbed as Sportsnight with Coleman until it moved to Wednesdays in 1973. It's theme tune was composed by Tony Hatch. football matches and FA Cup replays.
The show broadcast many sports and acted as a midweek version of Grandstand, although most of its coverage was in highlights form. Midweek football action was often shown on Sportsnight, particularly of international A further show, Sport on Friday, ran from 1987 until 1997, acting as a companion to both Sportsnight and Grandstand, covering sports such as snooker and horse racing on BBC2 on a Friday afternoon. The presenter was orginally David Icke but replaced by the late Helen Rollason in 1990.
