A sports trader is similar to a finance trader but instead of dealing with financial instruments, they deal with sport betting stocks (gambling). Sports traders are different from punters in that they trade betting stocks to ensure instantanous marginal profits through arbitraging or value betting. Sports traders can be professionals (working for a sports book), or self-employed. Traders working for a sports book are also incharged adjusting the odds of the market so that profit can be made from the bid-offer spread.
