[edit] Early Life and Education
Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh was born August 28, 1953 in a Hindu Warrior class in Haryana, near Delhi, India. Since the age of 5, he has been entering deep states of samadhi, the highest meditative state. He became a monk in 1970 and has been traveling the world promoting non-violence, universal unity, and teaching spirituality, meditation and yoga. [2]
He completed his Acharya and received double Masters and a Doctorate of Philosophy in The Six Substances of Jainism: A Comparative Study with Buddhist Texts. [3]
[edit] Spiritual Teachings
Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh stated in a lecture on January 12 2008, "I am not here to teach you, I am here to share my knowledge." He is a living spiritual master and his teachings awaken souls.
[edit] Non-Violence
Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh promotes the Principle of Non-Violence. He equates non-violence to love. He says that, "If you feel oneness with all living beings, you cannot hurt, harm, or kill anything." [4] Through the principle of non-violence he promotes Vegetarianism and does not support animal cruelty.
[edit] Religion vs. Spirituality
Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh is not a traditional Indian Guru, Spiritual Teacher, or a Religious Hindu Swami. He does not support religious traditions. He feels that by keeping a person trapped in a religion, or under the guidance of an untrue spiritual teacher, one will be misguided and will not be able to find the real truth hidden in their hearts.
He says that religion may help a person be better in society, but feels that the true wisdom of the spiritual masters, like Jesus, Buddha, and Mahavir is lost and therefore he is committed to making the true teachings available to all.
Dr. Acharya Yogeesh feels that spirituality, a pathless path, is the gradual process to awakening the soul through the process of self-awareness, self-improvement, and meditation.
[edit] Spiritual Teachers
Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh speaks out against the traditional swamis that claim themselves as enlightened masters. He says that "true enlightened masters do not promote, build, or worship temples, statues, and churches." [5]
A true enlightened master does not seek fame, wealth, or popularity.
He once said in a video, "There are many spiritual disciples in the world, but not enough masters. It is unfortunate that these spiritual seekers and students are getting trapped into religion and under the guidance of fake spiritual teachers." [6]
[edit] Truth
Dr. Acharya Shree Yogeesh is known for speaking the bitter truth about controversial subjects in a spiritual aspect, that most spiritual speakers often ignore. He addresses atheism, religion, science to name a few.
He currently reaches a wide audience on the internet by answering questions through his Spiritual Videos.
