The book follows Iris and her daughter Vivie. Iris becomes isolated until she captures a flair for story telling. The book also deals with themes of trauma and mental illness.

Angela Young was the runner up in the 2004 London Writer's Competition, and was the very first unpublished writer to be given a bursary from the Arts Council. She has also be commissioned by the BBC to finish Edith Wharton's 'The Buccaneers'.
