[edit] Commonweal School

Hi there. Just so you know, I removed sections of the Commonweal School article which were trivial and non-encyclopedic. Here at Wikipedia we try to include only the information about a subject which is unique and/or notable. A curriculum is generally not, nor is info about clubs. If you have any questions about this, please leave me a note on my talk page. Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 19:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Inner city of Bristol

Since you've said you want to be a serious contributor, I thought I'd take the time to explain how things work here with a more personal touch, with the goal of helping you grasp our goals and guidelines so that you can make contributions which not only you can be proud of, but also enlighten and inform other readers. Since this is an encyclopedia, there are limits to what items can have articles, and which are better suited to other venues.

I deleted the article "Inner city of Bristol" because it is an unlikely search term. This section of the city is still part of the legal boundaries of the city, and any useful information contained therein should be introduced into the Bristol article. Further, your text contained thoughts which may constitute original research, something we don't do here. We are only a secondary source, and cannot present our own ideas. We only present established facts in an encyclopedic format, which leads me to the next concern, that of tone. Sentences like, "I also believe that there needs to be a variety of different residential areas and classes to account for a variety of different pay," and, "This is why I think that regeneration is important for the success rate for a city, as it makes the most of available and unused space," are opinions, not facts, and shouldn't be in an encyclopedia.

I'm hoping that you don't get upset, or feel offended or hurt; rather, I hope you can learn from you efforts here and begin to make contributions which are beneficial. One of my first original articles was Indian King Tavern, which took alot of effort and proper wording to reach the quality of work expected here on Wikipedia, and make acceptable to the other users, as well as good research for verifiable reliable sources that established the notability of my subject. If you really want to help out here, it will involve a learning curve, which I really hope you are up for. It's a good exercise for your brain, and when you can share about subjects in which you are interested with others who are looking for the same information, it is a satisfying feeling. Cheers and happy editing! - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:12, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Western computers

A tag has been placed on Western computers, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Triwbe (talk) 13:15, 30 April 2008 (UTC)

I have restored the page to User:Spanner0jjm/Western computers. If you plan on moving it back to the main article space, make sure that the article asserts why the company is notable. Please see WP:N and WP:CORP for the guidelines. ... discospinster talk 16:57, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
