[edit] The 300 Spartans

I believe mention should be made of the 1962 movie "The 300 Spartans"
-D.

[edit] Companies using Spartan

Spartan Bicycles used (are they still in business?) a profile of a stylized Spartan helmet in the badge riveted to the head tube of their frames.

Spartan Sports www.spartansports.com uses a profile of a stylized Spartan warrior with a sword that has the company name on the blade.

[edit] Dictionary

See http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spartan for what many people think of when they encounter the word "spartan". Simple, frugal, or austere.

the movie isnt a true account of what happened...dissapointing to say the least. maybe a rewrite was in order —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.97.72.45 (talk) 05:10, August 29, 2007 (UTC)
