Explorer was intended from the outset to serve as a reproduction of a shuttle for visitors to see, and did/does not serve the Space Shuttle Program in any way, shape, or form. By contrast, Enterprise was originally built in order to do atmospheric testing, and was intended to be refitted for actual spaceflight (though the latter never occurred). Then Pathfinder was originally built as a static test article, and was later done up to visually resemble a shuttle. So no, Explorer is not a "real" space shuttle any more than my station wagon is a "real" space shuttle. SchuminWeb (Talk) 05:39, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
