Danny Earyl Driver (born December 14, 1977 in Roxbury, MA, United States, also known as (Sparrow) is American entrepreneur, businessman and former WPFL head coach for the New England Storm and Missouri Prowlers. He is currently the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the expansion Lone Star Mustangs of the NWFA

[edit] Coaching

In 2002 Driver was named the third head coach in Storm team history. He would take the reins of a talented Storm team that would see immediate success in Driver's high octane pass / run offense averaging 411 ypg. and 33.6 ppg. and a berth in the conference title game. Driver's storm would have similar success in the '03 season winning the division title and have consecutive playoff appearances. But after contractual and financial issues with embattled team owner and president Melissa Korpacz see newenglandstorm.com. Driver would resign weeks after the team was eliminated for the 2003 postseason, the team would only play one more season before the league would expell Korpacz and the storm for violating several league policies. In April of 2004 Driver would be named head coach of the struggling Missouri Prowlers / Avengers in Springfield, MO. The team would show signs of improvement under Driver's guidance but he would have a less than successful stint with the Avengers and would resign after only one season after rumors that team owners Gayle Stack and Rebecca McCanns were shutting down the franchise.

[edit] Post Coaching Career

After resigning from the Missouri franchise, Driver returned to Texas where on Sept. 29, 2005 he would become Director of Hotel Sales and Services for Choice Hotels International franchisee Progressive Inns Inc. Driver would resign Jan. 10, 2007 citing personal reasons. A few months later Driver would be named assistant volleyball coach at Temple College but would resign several weeks later as many feel he was still coping with personal issues. Driver also worked as a manager for Duncan Burch Manangement in Dallas TX and as an independent scout of high school athletes for various colleges and universities. Driver is currently and independent consultant and revenue mananger for various hotels in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.

Driver holds a Bachelor's degree in international business from Rice University as well as a Master's degree in Business Administration from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business. In October of 2004 Driver and his former spouse LaTonya Diane Driver would split up while Driver was coaching the in Missouri. After failed attempts to salvage the marriage the two would divorce in October of 2006 after a long separation. An although LaTonya was granted custody of the couples three children Ashlund, Christian, Alexander. The two share custody. Driver is a member of The ΣΦΕ Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
