[edit] Biography

ML grew up in NYC and Nikki grew up in Washington, DC. They had been friends for a decade when they decide to form the band because of the "dissatisfaction of where life was taking them." ML was primarily influenced by hip-hop, especially Black Sheep, Cypress Hill and Wu-Tang Clan. Later she was inspired by the likes of Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix. Nikki was influenced by the WDC punk scene and specifically Fugazi. Spalding Rockwell first gained attention as a featured act on Larry Tee’s electroclash circuit and subsequently released White Cotton Panties on the 2002 Badd Inc. compilation. Their full-length LP Kate was entirely written, performed and produced by ML and Nikki.
