Spacing may refer to:

  • Leading, in typography, the amount of added vertical spacing between lines of type. This concept is sometimes referred to as 'line spacing'.
  • Letter-spacing, in typography, the amount of space between a group of letters to affect density in a line or block of text.
  • Spacing rules, in typesetting, the use of spaces in printed text around punctuation, words, and sentences.
  • French spacing, English spacing, American typewriter spacing, and Double spacing, in typing, different approaches to inserting spaces in typed text around punctuation, words, and sentences.
  • As used in science fiction, spacing is a theoretical method of execution by jettisoning an individual into outer space: see Space exposure.
