Spaceboy Boogie X

Spaceboy Boogie X is an American hip hop producer and rapper. He is well known as a hip hop Superstar in Japan and for producing alternative rap group, The Pharcyde's album Humboldt Beginnings.

[edit] Early Life

Spaceboy Boogie X was born in the San Fernando Valley, part of the City of Los Angeles. He now resides in Montebello, (adjacent to East L.A.).

[edit] Soul Unit Record Shop

Spaceboy Boogie X opened a record store in 1997 called the Soul Unit Record Shop in San Fernando Valley. At the store, Spaceboy would also sell records to producers and Japanese buyers.

[edit] Defiant Sons

Spaceboy Boogie X joined rappers Chief and Crooked Smiles in 1999 to form Latin Hip Hop trio, Defiant Sons.

Defiant Sons have performed with hip hop artists; Cypress Hill, Styles of Beyond, Hieroglyphics, Street Platoons, Psycho Realm, Dilated Peoples and Jurassic 5.

Spaceboy Boogie X was first introduced to The Pharcyde in 1997 when he met Bootie Brown at a swap meet where Spaceboy was selling records.

[edit] Humboldt Beginnings

In 2004, Spaceboy Boogie X produced Humboldt Beginnings along with alternative rap group, The Pharcyde, members Bootie Brown and Imani. The album was released on Chapter One Entertainment, the group's own indie label.

[edit] Imani & Bootie Brown Solo Efforts/Projects

Spaceboy also is working on Imani and Bootie Brown's solo projects. Solo projects can be found on Spaceboy's The Chronicles LP compilation album released on Props Recording in Japan.

Imani has released a solo album called Sagittarius 71 with Spaceboy, also released on Props Recording in Japan.

[edit] Pitch Hitters

Pitch Hitters is a producing group formed by Spaceboy Boogie X and Bootie Brown. The group produces beats, remixes and collaborates with other hip hop artists.

DJ Ralph M of Funkdoobiest was also affiliated with the group at one point.

In 1998, Spaceboy co/produced and rapped on the song "Holograms" with Styles of Beyond for the group's album 2000 Fold.

Spaceboy Boogie X co/produced the song "Hard Times" featuring The Pharcyde and Jurassic 5 on the compilation album Straight from the Crates Vol. 1.

Spaceboy has also worked with alternative rap group Hieroglyphics, he produced the song "Jingle Jangle" on the album Full Circle.
