Space Islands is a commercial space station project run by Hilton International. When completed, it will be called the Hilton Orbital Hotel. It is to be constructed from used space shuttle fuel tanks. The tanks are to be connected together to form a ring, resulting in a space station similar to that pictured in the film 2001: A Space Odyssey. This project should not be confused with a similar project launched by the Space Island Group called the Space Island Project.
