My rejection

Hi -

You just rejected my request for a change in my user name...How do I get the word "user" from the beginning of my user name? I don't want/need it there! I didn't type it in.

You can't - The "User:" is a prefix that separates out users from articles. Please note that promotional or self-aggrandizing activities are looked down upon on Wikipedia. -Jéské (v^_^v E pluribus unum) 18:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I think a mistake may have been made (at least in reasoning if not the result) by User:Midom this bot does not update pages for somewhere to store information, it updates pages as the request of editors who wish to show there online/offline status. It's used for example in the status display of active users in Wikipedia:Highly_Active_Users/North_America. SunCreator (talk) 23:39, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Agree, this isn't a database, this bot is making useful edits requested by users, if the frequency is killing the servers, then would running it less often satisfy the needs? If user variables were available and transcludable this wouldn't be needed at all e.g. {{USERVAR:Xaosflux/LASTEDIT}}. — xaosflux Talk 23:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I think it was shut down because it made Too Many Edits™. If you'd like a workaround, see WT:Highly_Active_Users#Interim_workaround, we're also trying for a uservar as mentioned above. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 17:40, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Retagging of do-attempt pages

Soxbot seems to retag do-attempt pages as orphans. This is not helpful for Wikipedia:O since we tag them as attempted to be able to weed through the list and leave the attempts for another time. See http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bigflix&action=history for an example. Is there a solution for this? Shoombooly (talk) 22:51, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned disambiguation pages

Hi Soxred, could you tweak your bot so it doesn't tag disambiguation pages as orphans? There's really no point to that, since disambiguaton pages SHOULDN'T have any incoming links. Thanks!--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 13:21, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
