[edit] South Ferry as a Geographic Location

I generally hear South Ferry in reference to either the South Ferry subway station or (perhaps inaccurately) to the Staten Island Ferry terminal. The historic reference to the Brooklyn-bound ferry I'm not familiar with. However, I don't believet that it is correct to say that the Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty ferries leave from South Ferry. They leave from Battery Park. Even this article refers to locations in Battery Park as "nearby." Perhaps it should be said that South Ferry (geographically) is the location of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal (serving ferries between Staten Island and Manhattan) and the Whitehall Ferry Termninal (also known as the Battery Maritime Building, serving ferries between Governor's Island and Manhattan).
