The Southern Giant Salamander or Salamandra Gigante De Putla (Pseudoeurycea maxima) is a species of salamander in the Plethodontidae family. It is endemic to Mexico. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montanes, plantations , rural gardens, and heavily degraded former forest.
