The Art Hop is a celebration of the visual arts and has put on every September for the last 15 years. The event occurs on a Friday evening in September. There is a free shuttle that is travel along Pine Street and art galleries in Downtown Burlington, VT. It is put on by the Burlington City Arts Department and the South End Arts + Business Association (SEABA). SEABA uses this as a chance for people to see a wide collection of local artists and their artwork.
The Art Hop started as a small neighborhood gathering. Today it is considered by art enthusiasts to be one of the most important events for the arts. It is advertised as bringing in the best artists around the state of Vermont. Many artists in the South End and Downtown open their doors to people to come see their work and watch the at work. For those that have their studios outside the areas, many businesses and galleries allow them to place their artwork on their premises for the show.
