The South Alabama Marching Band is a student organization that was recently approved by the University of South Alabama's board of trustees to debut in conjunction with the South Alabama football team in 2009. The decision was made on December 6, 2007.^[1] In the proposed budget, the marching band would potentially travel to up to three away games or exhibitions, as determined by the director of bands.^[2]

The band is expected to debut at the first football game on September 5, 2009.
