South Aegean is one of the thirteen peripheries of Greece. It consists of the Cyclades and Dodecanese islands in the South Aegean Sea. The capital of the periphery is situated in Ermoupoli, Syros island while a suboffice is operating in Rhodes, the economical, social and tourism centre of the periphery. In August of 2004, the Secretary General of the periphery was Har. Kokkinos.
