Do you know what is the difference between tectonics, plate tectonics and structural geology? I recommend to make it clear for yourself before changing categorization. I don't know whether we need category "plate tectonics". I would recat most of it's articles to tectonics because plate tectonics is just a theory, not field of study like tectonics. And structural geology is not suitable substitution for tectonics because it deals with micro- and local structures but not with bigger features like ocean basins, orogens etc which belongs to tectonics. - I'm a Geologist. Tectonics-category had only five entries, and I moved them to categories where the article in question suits best. Wikipedia entry Tectonics redirects to Plate Tectonics, so apparently the latter is preferable. Sorsanmetsastaja 18:19, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

- "Tectonics" redirects to "plate tectonics" because article about tectonics is not yet written. It doesn't mean that tectonics and plate tectonics are synonymous. English wikipedia has very many such redirect pages which direct to an article which has totally different meaning. Siim 18:28, 21 March 2006 (UTC)
