He currently lives in Maryland, U.S. Sorin Ovreiu is a soccer player for the MD Strikers United affiliated with Bowie Soccer United Soccer Club. The MD United Strikers won the BBSL U-14 B Boys championship for the 2007 spring season. Sorin was picked as the MVP by his coach and wore the captain's armband for the last game of the season.

Sorin Ovreiu attended school in Bucharest, Romania until second grade. He has always been an honor roll student. He received a 4.o GPA several times. He has won numerous awards for his accomplishments in science fairs and mathematics competitions.
