Talk:Sorenson codec

I belive there is more than one Sorenson codec - many sources talk about "Sorenson 2", "Sorenson 3" and so forth. A list of codecs and what they are based on would be much welcomed :-)

[edit] Sorenson the Name

Is "Sorenson" a personal name? I went to the company site, could not find a reference. --Migs 07:25, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

The CEO is "James Lee Sorenson", so I think that answers that. --Kiand 11:09, 14 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, I don't believe I missed that! --Migs 17:24, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorenson License

Who owns the licenses of this codec now? Is it legal to use that with FFMPEG for encoding? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.205.224.64 (talk) 21:46, 1 February 2007 (UTC).
