"Mountain ash" is not strictly a North American common name; I checked numerous British references and many (in fact the majority) list the name as an alternative to "rowan" in many British references. MrDarwin 17:12, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

I think the part about the finnish wine should be moved to a Sorbus disambiguation page really.

[edit] Taxonomy

There appears to be a problem with the taxonomic tree referenced here. ITIS entries for Sorbus americana make no reference to this subfamily or subgenera. "Rowan" does not appear to enter into this species or many other species in the genus Sorbus.Nickrz 21:49, 26 October 2007 (UTC) ^[1]
