Sophie Albou is a Parisian-born designer who is best known as the founder of the Paul & Joe clothing line. She trained at the Institut Francais de la Mode, landed a position at Azzedine Alaia at the age of 16, and ultimately created the Paul & Joe brand in 1995. (The brand name comes from the names of Albou's two sons aged 11 and 14, respectively, as of 2007.) Catering to men, women, and children alike, the Paul & Joe brand is sold in over 30 flagship stores, including locations in Paris, London, and Tokyo, as well as high-end retailers worldwide.
In August 2006, Albou designed a collection for Target Corporation's Go International line under the Paul & Joe brand.
