Sonoma is awesome.

[edit] Sonoma

I am a resident of Sonoma. It is a great tourist site, but if your a teen looking for something to do, this town is NOT for you. The movie theaters or the square are your two places you can "hang" as the youngsters all it. I love Sonoma being an elderly women. There are lovely people and it gives you a safe feeling.

Such is life in smalltown America; if I were a teen, I'd still much rather live in Sonoma, CA than some comparable town in the blank middle of Kansas. Say, did you happen to take some photos of the recent flooding; one would make a good addition to this article. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 21:23, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] History section

The editor decision to add back "unexplained or lost history right after the flag section literally just repeats several paragraphs that are better worded right before the flag section. In other words they were never lost just moved up now they are repeated. I shall remove the repeats after the flag section. Goldenrowley 04:49, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flag Section

The complete flag section (about governments of California) is currently on both on Sonoma County page and Sonoma Town page. I proposed to remove it from the town page and leave it on the COUNTY page because towns usually dont discuss statehood. However this is unique the state formed in the town of Sonoma 2 times .... I deleted it once, but someone wanted back. I am neutral can go either way just note it is duplicating government info on town and county page Goldenrowley 05:35, 7 September 2006 (UTC)

The identity of the town is pretty closely tied to its history, and the rest of the county really didn't have anything to do with that historical episode. It makes the most sense in the article on the town (although it probably should be moved to its own article). 50n0m4 22:59, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Except the English and Russian governments never claimed the town, but did make claims in the county. And the mission wasn't founded until after the Mexican revolution, so the Spanish never really claimed any town at this location. Four flags have flown over the town. On top of that, this table isn't entirely accurate. See the corrected version on the county page.Ibadibam (talk) 10:57, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

50n0m4's comments don't really address the relevance of the entire flag section...just the Bear Flag Revolt. Since I've seen no further comments in the past month I'm going to take the section out again.Ibadibam (talk) 09:37, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Plat in Points of Interest

I have taken the initiative of deleting the reference to the Plat under points of interest. It seems to me as indefensible as a point of interest for the town. Perhaps the inclusion of the Sonoma Overlook trail [1] would be in order. Please respond with a citation of the Plat before reversing the deletion. Thanks.
