The Sony NW-A80x, is a series of network enabled video Walkman players, announced late 2006 and released on 19 May 2007. On 19 May 2007, only the NW-A806 (4 GB) and the NW-A808 (8 GB) model were released. On 13 June 2007, Sony announced that the NW-A800 (2 GB) will be included in the series and soon be available to the public.

The first models released include the NW-A800 (2 GB), NW-A806 (4 GB) and NW-A808n(8 GB) models, all of which support ATRAC.

In late 2007, Sony released 3 new enhanced models, the NWZ-A815 (2 GB), NWZ-A816 (4 GB) and NWZ-A818 (8 GB). Some of the enhancements made include compatibility with Windows Media Player 11, and the infamous Drag n' Drop feature, which allowed the user to transfer Music, Photo and Video files quickly, via windows explorer, (using ID-Tags for the song information i.e. album, artist etc). Sony also removed compatibility with ATRAC which replaced the customers need for SonicStage, with Windows Media Player 11.

The walkman contains a 2" QVGA LCD screen, of which can be used horizontally or vertically, it uses a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which has a battery life of approximately 33 hours of music and 8 hours of video, although the 33 hours of music and 8 hours video was only supported by the earlier version of the series, i.e. NW-A80x version.

The Sony NW-A80x and NWZ-A81x series start at approximately £89 GBP for the 2 GB model, £99 GBP for the 4 GB model and £129 GBP for the 8 GB model.

In the USA prices start at approximately $119 USD for the 2 GB model, $149 USD for the 4 GB model and $199 USD for the 8 GB model although, prices may vary.
