Some of My Best Friends

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some of My Best Friends is a short-lived comedy shown on CBS from February 28 until April 11, 2001. The series starred Jason Bateman as Warren, a gay writer living in Greenwich Village, at 36 Christopher Street, and Danny Nucci as Frankie, his straight roommate. Alec Mapa played Vern, Warren's flamboyant best friend, who lived upstairs from Warren and usually entered Warren's apartment by coming down the fire escape and through a window.

The series was inspired by the film Kiss Me, Guido. James Widdoes was the director. Marc Cherry, who later went on to develop Desperate Housewives, was one of the series executive producers and writers.

The show failed to attract a substantial audience, and was cancelled after five episodes had aired.
