Somatotropin receptor

The somatotropin receptor, or growth hormone receptor, is a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily. One growth hormone molecule binds to one receptor and then recruits a second receptor to form a dimer through which signalling occurs. Growth hormone has a bell-shaped dose response curve because high concentrations actually prevent dimerization of the receptors and prevent signalling.
