Talk:Solar still

The link "http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SOLAR_DISTILLATION_PROJECT/ ( Make your own solar powered still) [Yahoo! group no longer active]" may as well be removed. It is no longer even possible to access old pages for it (the user is simply greeted with a page saying that the group is not found.)

[edit] Poor link description
The link titled "Compares the efficiency of several solar still methods" is very misleading. The article is actually quite fascinating, but the point of the article is not the comparison of different methods of solar distillation. The purpose of the article is to call into question the ubiquitous belief that solar stills are valuable in a survival setting. Great link, but the description should be something more like, "Alternative viewpoint on the effectiveness of solar stills."

[edit] Needs some formulas
It would be nice if this article included some formulas to predict the water production of a solar still. Something like the area and temperature and amount of fluid is what I'm thinking but don't know if there is something like that. Crushacm (talk) 04:30, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
