Sokolniki Park, named for the famous Tsarist falcon hunts formerly conducted there, is one of the oldest parks in Moscow. With an area of 6 square kilometres, it is four times larger than London's Hyde Park. Located straight across from the Sokolniki Metro station in the Sokolniki District, it is home to an amusement park, a winter outdoor ice skating rink and an exposition centre. It also contains the Sokolniki Sports Palace, home to the ice hockey team HC Spartak Moscow.
