Sokhna Benga

Sokhna Benga (born 1967) is a Senegalese novelist and poet.

She was born in Dakar. She studied at Dakar University and obtained there a Business Law Master's degree. Later she went to France where she obtained a DESS of Maritime Law and lived almost ten years. She joined humanitarian associations and worked with marginalized people and pupils.

In Dakar where she returned in 2001, she became literary director of the great editor: Les Nouvelles Editions Africaines du Sénégal (NEAS).

She is a member of:

  • La Societé des Gens de Lettres
  • la Maison des Ecrivains
  • Senegalese writer's association (AES)
  • French writers association (ADELF).

In 2004 she became a member of French Arts's and letters order. She writes in French.
