Sogou (Chinese:搜狗 Hanyu Pinyin:Sōugǒu) is a Chinese search engine which can search text, images, music, and maps. It was launched 4 August 2004 and is owned by Sohu, Inc., SoGou means "Search Dog" in Chinese. [1]

As of Feb 2008, it has a rank of 142 in Alexa's internet rankings.[2]. Sogou provides an index of up to 10 billion web pages.[3].

The domain sogou.com attracted at least 1.1 million visitors annually by 2008 according to a Compete.com survey.

Its major domestic competitor is Baidu.
