Sofa was a trip hop/rock band formed in 1998 by Carlos Chairez and his brother Jorge Chairez after they met Luis Fara Dominguez. Gilberto Cerezo joined them after Luis called him explaining what they were trying to create. Enrique Camacho, who had played with Gilberto on a previous band (Pasto) filled in the drummer position. They quickly gained a loyal fan base in Monterrey after playing local festivals such as Machaca Regia in 1998, but they disbanded on 1999 after Gilberto and Carlos parted ways with their band Kinky. They all remain making music.
